Family and Friends Meeting at Mohawk’s Stoney Creek Campus to Honour the Memory of Local Business Owner
HAMILTON – More than 100 family and friends of the late Gerald Marshall will be meeting at Mohawk’s Stoney Creek Campus tomorrow to officially launch and pledge their support for the newly established Gerald Marshall Fund.
The Gerald Marshall Fund will support the transformation of the Stoney Creek Campus into the Mohawk Skilled Trades and Apprenticeship Research, Resources and Training (STARRT) Institute and enhance the college’s Truck and Coach Apprenticeship program.
Gerald Marshall was the founder and owner of G. Marshall Transport Ltd in East Hamilton from 1970 until his retirement in 2004. Mr. Marshall passed away in May 2006 following a courageous battle with cancer. As a lasting tribute to their father’s legacy, the Marshall family is donating $1.2 million to Mohawk – the single largest gift ever received by the college.
The event will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 15 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the cafeteria at the Stoney Creek Campus and several additional donations will be announced.
