The 4th Annual Gerald Marshall Centre Benefit
For the first time ever the Gerald Marshall Centre Benefit will be held in The Gerald Marshall Centre for Transportation. This year the event will be a casual Blue Jean BBQ with live musical guest 'Banned From Heaven'.
All proceeds from this event support the Gerald Marshall Centre for Transportation at Mohawk College's STARRT campus and the College's Truck and Coach Apprenticeship program.
In 2006, the Marshall family and Marshall Truck & Trailer Repair donated $1.2 million to support the transformation of the Stoney Creek Campus into the Mohawk STARRT Institute for Skilled Trades and Apprenticeship Research, Resources and Training. The family made the donation in memory of their late father Gerald Marshall, who founded G. Marshall Transport Limited in 1970.
The new $3.2 million LEED-certified building at the STARRT institute for Mohawk's Truck and Coach Technician and Truck Trailer Service Technician apprenticeship program officially opened on February 4th, 2010.
The first three Gerald Marshall Fundraising Events raised nearly $150,000 in addition to the $1.2 million donated by the family. Friends and business associates of the late Mr. Marshall have also contributed to the campaign which has raised $1.5 million to date.
This years event takes place on Saturday May 15th, 2010 at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $50.00 each or $450.00 for tables of 10.
