Medical Emergencies and First Aid
Fast response time is crucial in the event of a medical emergency. Mohawk College’s Security Services and Health Services personnel are trained in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and in the use of automated external defibrillators (AED). Security Services is provided 24/7 and can be reached by any of the following in the event of an emergency:

- 88 at IAHS (McMaster Security) or
- Use emergency intercoms
AEDs are one of the links in the chain of survival that may be used by a qualified person to restart a heart that has stopped beating effectively. AEDs are located (available) at each of Mohawk’s campuses. Please note the location of AEDs at your work location:

Also, many departments at the college are equipped with basic first aid kits and have staff trained in Standard First Aid. Check with your department to identify any certified first aiders and the location of first aid kits.
