How to Apply
Searching and Applying for Bursaries and Scholarships is Simple, Quick and Easy
Step 1 - Search for an Award
Figure 1 Below: Screenshot of the Awards/Bursary Search Page
From this page, you can search for bursaries and scholarships. You can search by:
- School or Group
- Program
- Year of Study
- How to Apply
- Deadline Date
Click on the options you want to search for and click Search and continue on to Step 2. If you want to start over, click Reset Criteria.
Step 2 - Apply Online
After you click Search, you will be taken to a results page.
- Note that not all awards listed can be applied for online:
- Faculty Selected: Those bursaries and scholarships that are chosen by program faculty will state "Faculty Selected" in the How to Apply field. If you are interested in this bursary or scholarship, speak to your faculty for more information.
- See Web Link: Those bursaries and scholarships that have an application posted on the funders website will have a link directly to the site where students can apply.
- Special Application: These bursaries and scholarships require a special application that is available at our office, room C068, Fennell Campus.
- Bursaries and Scholarships that can be applied to though the Mohawk site will state "General - Click below to apply on-line or download PDF", you'll see the links to "Apply Online" or "Download the PDF" below.
When you click Apply Online for those awards that can be applied to from the Mohawk site, you will be taken to a new screen with the online application form.
- You will be required to supply information about yourself including your social insurance number (SIN), student number and OCAS number.
- Part of the application requires you to write a letter explaining why you should receive the award.
- Please review the criteria of the bursary or scholarship, if it lists "financial need" as a requirement you MUST answer the Financial Information Statement questions in the application.
You are also asked to:
- agree to the school’s waiver and the Fuel To Learn waiver
- type in the unique Submission Code that you see in the shaded box
The waiver forms are privacy statements that tell you why the data is collected and that the data is securely stored. Click on the links to read the complete waivers.
The Submission Code is there to prevent hackers from creating an automated process that would flood and slow down a school’s server with applications. The Submission Code is randomly generated with each online application.
Click Submit and a confirmation will appear on the screen to tell you that your application was successfully submitted. You will also receive a confirmation email.
Step 3 - Tell a Friend
Because it is so easy to search for bursaries and scholarships, you will want to tell your friends. If you have found an award that you want to let someone know about, simply click on the Tell a Friend button and email the results to someone else by completing the following information:
- Your Name
- Your Friend’s Name
- Your Email Address
Then specify if you want a copy sent to your email address by clicking the box to indicate “yes”. You will also need to type in another Submission Code. Finally, click Send.
Step 4 - Supply a Copy of Your Transcript
A copy of your latest transcript must be submitted to the Awards Co-ordinator Room C068 Fennell Campus. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
