All Electrotechnology Students
- You are required to purchase Lab Kits for your program of study.
- You must be prepared to receive Lab Kits as per the Lab Kit Distribution Schedule.
What are Lab Kits?
- Lab Kits are ONLY for courses taught in the Electrotechnology labs.
- Lab Kits are required for your lab courses and consist of electronic components, hardware, tools and accessories.
- Additional supplies may be required for your courses. You will be advised by your instructors.

Lab Kit Purchase Forms for Winter 2012 (January)
- Lab Kit Purchase Forms are available outside of the E229 door (E-wing 2nd floor).
- Bring a completed Lab Kit Purchase Form (student copy) with Payment Receipt (stapled together) to your first lab class.
How do I get a Lab Kit?
Lab Kit Distribution Schedule
Lab Kit Distribution location and times are listed below:
- Week 1 Jan. 9 to 13, 2012
- Week 2 Jan. 16 to 20, 2012
- Lab Kits will be delivered to Chemical, Mechanical and and Pretechnology as advised in Week 1:
- Chemical (ELEC 10089), Mechanical (ELEC10086), Pretechnology (ET024) kits will will be delivered to labs.
- Lab Kits will be delivered to Semester 1 and 2 Electrotechnology as advised in Week 1:
- Students that still required kits may go to E229 this week to pick up kits.
- All students MUST get their kits by Jan. 20, 2011.
- Week 3 Jan. 23 to semester end
- You should have your kits by now.
- Go to E229 and read the notice on the board.
Lab Kits and Student Responsibilities
- It is the responsibility of the student to be prepared for laboratory classes at all times.
- Read all the kit information on the ET Shop website before purchasing kits.
- Always be prepared for your labs at least 1 week in advance. Always!
- Check your Lab Kits one week in advance to ensure that you have all the parts required for your next lab.
- Notify your instructor if you do not have the parts required for your next lab!
- Technical support can provide support if the Lab Kit is missing parts or a lab has been modified.
- Advance notice is required for kit change or updates from the instructor.
- Technical support is not able to assist with last minute requests.
- Students may purchase Lab Kits or individual parts at the ET Shop (E229) only during scheduled hours.
- Technical Support Hours are posted on the ET Shop (E229) door.
- The ET Shop (E229) will only sell kits to students with a valid student ID that matches your receipt.
- You may only purchase one kit per course for courses that you are registered in.
- The Lab Kit Purchase Form must have the current semester date on it.
- Students must check their Lab Kits for missing parts within 2 weeks of purchase and report any missing parts to their instructor.
- The ET Shop (E229) is NOT responsible for missing components after 2 weeks from the date of purchase.
- If you have any concerns with a Lab Kit that you purchased bring it to the Technical Support Shop in E229 with your original receipt and student ID.
- Refunds will only be issued to the original purchaser within 2 weeks of purchase.
- You must present the original receipt and a valid student ID.
- Lab Kits must be unopened and in new condition.
- Refunds may take up to 6 weeks or more to process.

- Technical support staff are very busy!
- Knock (3 short knocks) and wait patiently.
- Students are expected to be prepared for labs and make purchases during the Lab Kit Distribution schedule.
