Medical Radiation Sciences - Student Services
Medical Radiation Sciences students participate in a collaborative, integrated program offered by McMaster University and Mohawk College. As “dual citizens” of both post-secondary communities, your student ID cards, one from Mohawk and one from McMaster, will identify you as a student from both institutions and permit access to the following services offered at either or both institutions.
Registrarial Services
McMaster: Admissions, registration, student records, transcripts and access to McMaster’s on-line student system (MUGSI) will be handled at McMaster University Registrar’s Office, located in Gilmour Hall, Room 108.
Student Identification Cards (both cards are mandatory)
McMaster: A new student form with instructions for obtaining your student ID card will be included with your registration from McMaster University. The card will then be mailed to you. Medical Radiation Sciences students are eligible for the HSR bus barcode on their McMaster student ID card.
Mohawk: To get your Mohawk photo ID, visit the Institute for Applied Health Sciences, Room 105 or call 905-540-4247, Ext. 26710 for more information.
Lockers
Mohawk: Lockers will be available for Medical Radiation Sciences students at the Mohawk-McMaster Institute for Applied Health Sciences building. See Student Engagement Office at IAHS, Room 105 to rent a locker. The fee is $15.00 per semester.
Residence and Off Campus Housing
Full access to residence and all resources available through the Off Campus Housing offices at both institutions.
Athletics and Recreation
Full access to all athletic and recreational activities and facilities located at both Mohawk College and McMaster University, including:
- McMaster: “The Pulse” in the Ivor Wynne Centre
- Mohawk: Mohawk College Fitness Centre in the residence building at Fennell Campus
Student Engagement Activities
Full access to all special events, orientation activities and student campus employment at both institutions.

Student and Graduate Employment (Career) Services
A variety of services is offered including assistance with letter and resume writing, job listings, interview skills, on campus recruitment, workshops and career fairs.
- McMaster: Career Services, Gilmour Hall. Individual career/employment counselling and career services Workshops offered by Career Services at McMaster University are restricted.

Counselling Services
McMaster: The Centre for Student Development is available and is located on the lower level of the Student Centre (MUSC B-107) or online at Centre for Student Development

- Mohawk: Counselling services are available at the IAHS in Room 303, including academic skills development, student success, personal and career counselling.
Student Accessibility Services
- Student Accessibility Services offers various supports for students with disabilities. We work with full-time and part-time students, as well as prospective students. SAS provides or assists them with their academic and disability-related needs. SAS McMaster
Health and Medical Services
- McMaster: Campus Health Centre services are limited to emergency situations.
- Mohawk: A full range of health services, including medical treatment and health education is available at the IAHS in Room 303. In the second year of studies, students will use Health Services at the IAHS to arrange Communicable Disease Screening (fee for service) prior to beginning clinical placement.
Human Rights (HRES)/Dispute Resolution (OMBUDS)
- McMaster: Contact HRES (Email: hres@mcmaster.ca / Ext. 27581 / MUSC 212) with any human rights/harassment questions or issues. Contact the Ombuds Office (Email: ombuds@mcmaster.ca / Ext. 24151 / MUSC 210) for information on University policies/procedures and assistance in resolving disputes. Both services are confidential
- Mohawk: Contact the Human Rights Co-ordinator in Room 303 at the IAHS. Mediation or dispute resolution services are available by calling Diane Harrison at 905-575-2435
Libraries
- McMaster: Full access to McMaster’s five libraries. MRSc students will have access to Libaccess, which enables you to access McMaster-licensed electronic resources (databases and e-journals) from home
- Mohawk: Full access to Mohawk’s libraries, including the Library Commons at the IAHS, and Mohawk’s virtual library, “The BRAIN” at TheBRAIN - The Library at Mohawk
Financial Aid
- McMaster: Financial Aid Office, Gilmour Hall, Room 120, will provide all services relating to financial assistance including OSAP, Scholarships, Ontario Student Opportunity Trust Fund (OSOTF) and in-course scholarships.
