Field Placement Settings:
- Shelters, Drop-in Centres, Group Homes, Schools, Residential Facilities
- Day Treatment Services
- Mental Health Centres
- Education Services
- Child Welfare Services
- Youth Criminal Justice Services
- Community Intervention Services
- Outreach Programs
- Hospitals
Prior to beginning ALL Field Work Practicum’s, the following MUST be completed and valid during the entirety of the placement:
- Medical Clearance
- Police Clearance
- Passing grade in all pre-requisite “CC” courses
For Field Placement:
- There are 3 required areas: School based environment, residential setting, and specialized
- One placement may be completed through place of employment if agency meets set criteria!
- While on placement, you will have regular contact with a Mohawk College field placement supervisor
- Placements begin in level 2 courses
- Possibility of PLAR for one or more placements
