Confidentiality
We know that sharing personal information is difficult and we respect your right to privacy and confidentiality. When you first meet with a counsellor you will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement. This indicates that the information you share with counsellors will be held in confidence. No information will be released to others without your signed consent except where required by law. Counsellors must report the following:
- when we become aware of children currently at risk of abuse
- when a person is a danger to him/herself or others
- when there is a court order to do so
