About
The Library collections are here to support your teaching and courses! We purchase items specifically to support the courses taught at Mohawk.
- The Library offers access to over 76,000 books and videos. Access the catalogue to find out what is available.
- In addition, over 10,000 electronic magazines and journals can be accessed from the Library web site, TheBRAIN. Access is available from the Databases page or the E-Journal Portal.
- The Library also provides access to over 8,000 electronic books.
Talk to us about how we can support your coursework and assignments through the broad array of books, videos, journals and e-resources available. We can assist you in identifying and accessing the information you need to develop and update courses!
Collection Management Policy
Want to know what subject areas the Library collects in, which formats are the focus, or the Library's policy on donations? Then, look no further than the Library's Collection Management Policy. For questions regarding this policy, please contact Cynthia Williamson, Collection Management Librarian, ext.3129, cynthia.williamson@mohawkcollege.ca.
Copyright
Confused by copyright? Librarians can advise you on current copyright legislation and blanket licenses available at Mohawk College. The Library also has access to a wealth of copyright-cleared online journal and magazine articles that you can link to in your course pages. Ask us how! For more information on copyright, see our "copyright guide for faculty" or our collection of web resources on copyright.
Custom Courseware
Librarians can help you choose and provide access to books, videos and articles. Why not save your students some money? Librarians can help you avoid costly courseware by directly linking to your courses' resources! Ask us how!
Recommend a Title
An online recommend a title form is available to make recommendations for items to be added to the Library's collections. While we cannot promise that we will purchase every item requested, we would be happy to work with you to see how the current collection can best meet your needs. If you prefer to talk to the Collections Management Librarian, please contact: Cynthia Williamson, (905) 575-1212 ext. 3129 or drop by her office at the Cummings Library, Room H101A.
