Mathematics Courses

Continuing Education offers a wide variety of mathematics courses each term. Some are stand-alone courses that are not part of a credential. Others are required for completion of a diploma or certificate and are offered through Continuing Education for your convenience. Some courses that are part of a specific diploma or certificate are advertised with that certificate. Required Calculator Policy

  • Sharp 516 Writeview Scientific Calculator for students in Technology Programs
  • BA II Plus Texas Instruments Financial Calculator for students in Business programs
  • No other calculator models will be permitted during tests, midterms or final exams.

Delivery Information

Courses are offered through the Math Learning Centre, and in some cases, Online.

  • Math Learning Centre Deliveries - these deliveries are identified with "DE" as the Campus Code. They are offered as Independent Learning, through MyCanvas, and students proceed through the material at their own pace.
  • Online - these deliveries are identified with "ON" as the Campus Code. They are offered as instructor-led online courses.

When checking for course availability, check the delivery methods listed and ensure you register for the correct CRN. 


Steps for Completing a course through the Math Learning Centre

If you've chosen a course with a delivery method of Math Learning Centre you need to follow these steps.

Course work is completed independently, online, by accessing MyCanvas. Follow the steps below to register and get started.

Choose your course and register:

  • Visit our Find your Math Course page to see a list of courses by program.  Visit the list of CE Math Courses to view courses offered through Continuing Education.
  • Click on the course numbers to determine course availability and start dates.
  • Choose a start date.
  • Continue through the online registration process.

Get started:

  • Your course will become available to you on MyCanvas on the start date.  You will then:
    • Review the Orientation Presentation
    • Review the Orientation Booklet
    • Review the Orientation Quiz
  • NOTE: You will not obtain access to any course materials, assignments or tests until you have received 20/20 on the Orientation Quiz.

Complete your course:

  • These courses are delivered through MyCanvas in a windows based environment.
  • You will work through the modules independently.
  • Assignment uploading and testing takes place online through the MyCanvas portal.
  • You must complete your course by the end date.
