The goal of Employer Services is to connect employers, willing to provide on-the-job training including apprenticeship training and work experience opportunities, with individuals eager and ready to be trained and to become fully productive members of the workforce.
An opportunity for employers to invest in their workforce
The governments of Canada and Ontario have invested in a program to support employer training needs. The Canada-Ontario Job Grant program provides direct financial support to employers to purchase training for their employees. The program covers two-thirds of training costs for a maximum government contribution of $10,000.00 per participant including tuition and training materials. Employers are responsible for contributing the remaining one-third.
Mohawk College offers Pre-Apprenticeship trades training funded by the Government of Ontario.
