Admission Requirements
Minimum requirements for admission to the Educational Assistant Diploma program
- OSSD or equivalent (GED, College and Career Preparation) including:
- Grade 12 English, C or U or equivalent
- Grade 10 Mathematics, D or P
- Program orientation is strongly encouraged
- Options are available for mature applicants. Please contact Admissions for more information.
For competitive programs (the number of qualified applicants exceeds the number of available places), selection will be based on the average of the highest senior level final grades in the required courses that are available at the time of ranking.
Note: Accepted applicants are required to provide an up-to-date immunization record. A criminal reference check will be required by field placement centres and registered students who have been convicted of an offence under the Criminal Code for which they have not been pardoned may be denied the opportunity to enter field placement. First Aid/CPR certification course is mandatory for placement, available through Continuing Education. Applicants should note that some employment opportunities require that certain physical standards, for lifting, stair-climbing and general health must be met as a condition of employment.
