Admission Requirements
Minimum requirements for admission to the Instructor for Blind & Visually Impaired - Orientation and Mobility Graduate Certificate program
- A College diploma in Human Services or University degree preferably in (but not restricted to) the Humanities, Arts or Education
- All applicants must possess independent orientation, mobility and daily living skills necessary to participate fully in the program
Note: Students are required to provide their own transportation for all school-related activities (e.g., field site visits, placements).
Registered students who have been convicted of an offence under the criminal code for which they have not been pardoned may be denied the opportunity to enter placement experiences. A certificate of “Police Clearance” and document entailing vulnerable sector screening and a criminal records check will be requested by the field placement agency, and is required by day one of the Fall semester for the practical skills training classes (i.e., VI104 Basic Orientation and Mobility Skills and VI 202 Long Cane Techniques).
