Mohawk's Protection, Security & Investigation program is a two-year Ontario College Diploma offered at Brantford Campus in Brantford, Ontario. The program gives students the opportunity to:
- Discover careers in protection, security and investigation with emphasis on public, personal and corporate safety through
policy development and facility design including information security - Learn powers of arrest, Use of Force and non-violent crisis intervention
- Develop fitness and emergency management skills to Protection, Security and Investigation industry standards in a licensed
testing facility on campus
- Determine community, national and international security assessments, procedures and regulations
- Monitor, evaluate and accurately document behaviours, situations and events in investigation and evidence gathering
- Specializations include Security Management, Electronic Security, Protection Technology, Customs and Immigration, Project Management, Surveillance, Identity Theft, Cyber Fraud
- Solve problems and make decisions in a timely, effective and legally defensible manner to uphold established standards and
relevant legislation in the Protection, Security and Investigation fields in compliance with organizational policies/procedures - Advocate for and act equitably and justly with diverse populations
- Prevent and resolve crisis, conflict and emergency situations by applying effective techniques as a member of a protection and security team
- Conduct and/or contribute to investigations by collecting, preserving and presenting admissible evidence to the Private
Security and Investigative Services Act
Protection, Security & Investigation offers a web enhanced learning environment and Mohawk Mock Trial Court Room. The program has a common first year with the Police Foundations and Community & Justice Studies programs.
