PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Server and Network Support Certificate is intended to provide the necessary background and introduction to computers, networks, network operating systems and Internet. This program will be of interest to those who work in an environment that fosters a Local Area Network and wish to understand the concepts of how a network handles data, and shares hardware and software resources. This program familiarizes students with data communications and networking essentials, TCP/IP and networking, network operating systems for network applications, computer and server hardware, and internet programming. 

This certificate will prepare you for COMPTIA A+, Server+, i-Net+, Linux+ and Microsoft Certifications and provides you with knowledge of current and emerging networking technology that will empower you to enter employment or further education in the computer-networking field.

For persons who wish to pursue a career as Network Supervisor or Network Manager, the program provides the preparatory studies for the Network Specialist Certificate.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Grade 12 (OSSD) and MATH10042 or equivalent.
