Event Planning Techniques Certificate
Welcome Letter

Welcome!

Thank you for your interest in the Event Planning Techniques Certificate program. This Ministry-approved events program meets the needs of today's event organizer and focuses on the trends within the event industry.

Please review our website for the program of studies and a proposed schedule of courses for the coming year. Introduction to Special Events is a 12-hour weekend/weekday course which serves as the entry point to our program. This course discusses trends, issues and growth in the industry, careers in special events, event terminology, tourism impact and professional bodies and certification. Completion of this course is a prerequisite to all other courses.

If you are interested in taking courses towards the Certificate you must complete the applicant profile sheet which we require all potential candidates to complete prior to acceptance into the certificate program.

Program information is available through our CE catalogue.

Please also note that as part of your commitment to the program, you should be prepared and available to complete new volunteer experiences in local events as part of the evaluative component in each course for which you register. More information on this aspect of our program is provided in the course outlines and by the course instructors or program manager.
