PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Study cardiovascular nursing in depth and at an advanced level. RNs will be able to utilize this study as preparation for the CNA certification exam in cardiovascular nursing. You must have approval from the Program Manager in order to register for this clinical experience. Please note that medical clearance is required. A flu shot is mandatory between October and April. For exemption information, contact the Program Manager. Courses in this program are offered through Distance Education.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a registered nurse.
- Current employment in an acute care setting.
- You must have approval from the Program Manager in order to register for the clinical experience. Please note that medical clearance and mask fit testing are required. A flu shot is mandatory between October and April.

To receive the Certificate, you must successfully complete the theory modules as well as the clinical module.

This program focuses on advanced content. Nurses interested in advancing their knowledge in a less complex manner should consider the cardiovascular module of the Critical Care program.
ADVANCED CARDIAC CARE CHALLENGE EXAM
The Challenge Exam for Module I Advanced Cardiac Care can be written on the first Friday of each month during the academic year.
