PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Gain advanced knowledge and nursing skills to care for patients and families living with cancer. RNs can use this course work to prepare for the Canadian Nurses Association certification exam in Oncology Nursing. This program is offered through Distance Education.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Proof of registration (CNO "Find a Nurse" document) must be faxed (905-528-7706) to Program Manager prior to registration for the introductory course NRSGNSCC1. Please fax to Amy Boyer at 905-527-7706 including the name of the program along with your e-mail address.

Oncology Nursing Certificate FAQs
NOTE
Medical clearance is required prior to the clinical experience course CLINNSCC6.
The Assessment Skills for Nurses course can be taken concurrently with the Oncology courses, but must be completed before enrollment in the Oncology Clinical Experience course and within 5 years of beginning the program.
On completion of NRSGNSCC1, HSCINSCC2, HSCINSCC3, HSCINSCC4 and HSCINSCC5, you are eligible to enter CLINNSCC6 Clinical Experience, but you must have the approval of the Program Manager before registering. Medical clearance is also required and a flu shot is mandatory between October and April prior to your clinical experience.
