Program Description
Architectural Technology Advanced Diploma
The Architectural Technology program at Mohawk College is an Ontario Advanced Diploma offered at Fennell Campus in Hamilton, Ontario.
Students in the program will learn residential and industrial-commercial institutional (ICI) design and construction techniques. They will understand how buildings work by learning the science of their materials, construction techniques and building services.
Students in the Architectural Technology program will have the chance to acquire CAD, plan reading and visualization skills needed to create plans, contracts and specifications for today's modern structures. Students will:
- learn green building fundamentals
- explore building and construction materials and finishes
- acquire construction surveying skills
- learn about estimating, building code applications and regulations
- design in steel, timber, masonry and concrete
Choose your own path in third year by selecting between the Design Option (building design and drafting, plans, working drawings) and the Construction Option (project management, construction supervision, facilities management).
The Architectural Technology Advanced Diploma program also includes Affiliations with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) and the Association of Architectural Technologists of Ontario (AATO).
