Biotechnology Technician (Health) Diploma
The Biotechnology Technician (Health) program at Mohawk College is a two-year Ontario College Diploma program offered at Fennell Campus in Hamilton, Ontario.
Biotechnology Technician (Health) students will have the opportunity to:- learn the fundamentals of biotechnology as employed in the Health sector: Human biology, pharmacology, genetics, forensics, microbiology, analytical instrumentation and medical devices, clinical labs.
- explore scientific methods and experimental techniques, in accordance with accepted principles of quality assurance and manufacturing in the biotech industry
Opportunities for Graduates
- Graduates and final year students are immediately eligible to be registered as associate members of The Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) upon submission of the Graduate Application form available through OACETT
- Additional requirements to become fully certified (work experience, the OACETT Professional Practice Examination, peer references, etc.) will be requested once the application has been received. Requirements for certification are the jurisdiction of OACETT. Visit www.oacett.org
Degree Opportunities with Charles Sturt University of Australia
Students
who have a diploma from the Mohawk College Biotechnology Technician
(Health) program (736) are eligible for direct entry into the BSc
Forensic Biotechnology honours degree program at Charles Sturt
University (Canadian campus in Burlington Ontario).
The full-time
program may be completed over two calendar years, or part time over
four/five years. Combined studies will be completed at Mohawk’s Fennel
Campus, McMaster University, and the Burlington Ontario campus of
Charles Sturt University.
