Admission Requirements

Applicants to the Quality Engineering Technician - Non Destructive Evaluation (NDE) Diploma program must have the minimum requirements for admission:

Options are available for mature applicants. Please contact Admissions for more information. A mature student is a person who has reached the age of 19 on or before the start of the program, and who does not have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.

Program applicants must demonstrate the ability to perform mathematical calculations at a OSSD level of grade 12, and have an ability in listening, speaking, reading and writing in the English language at the grade 12 level.

Students for whom English is a second language must demonstrate a minimum proficiency of Canadian Benchmark Language* Level 5. (TBC)

* Note: The Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) are the national standard used in Canada for describing, measuring and recognizing the second language proficiency of adult immigrants and prospective immigrants for living and working in Canada. The CLB provide a descriptive scale of communicative proficiency in English as a Second Language, expressed as benchmarks or reference points. They cover four skill areas: reading, writing, speaking and listening, and use real life language tasks to measure language skills. Because the Benchmarks have proven to be a useful tool for assessment and curriculum design, they are being used with a wide variety of student populations in addition to adult immigrants in Canada. More information is available at www.language.ca.
