Are you a cyclist looking for a safe place to store your bike on campus?
More than 40 secure bike parking spots are located within Mohawk's Restricted-Access Bike Parking Facility outside of C-wing. Secured bicycle parking facilities provide superior protection for your bicycle in comparison to the conventional bike rack.
Members will be granted a pass to enter the enclosed facility. Bikes are stored both vertically and traditionally in this storage system which, with one U-Lock, can secure both tires and the frame of the bike.
Located outside the C-Wing Main Entrance, this is a monitored facility, decreasing the probability of damage or theft to the bikes parked inside. Restricted-access bike parking provides an excellent option to store your bike, and adds peace-of-mind to your active commute to and from campus.
Partial funding for this initiative has been provided by the City of Hamilton, Smart Commute Hamilton, and Metrolinx as part of its BikeLinx program.
The creation of this Restricted-access Bike Parking Facility was a student-led initiative from start to finish. From the early stages of research to the pursuit of funding and raising awareness, Mohawk students made this project happen.
