Program Description

Cardiovascular Technology Diploma

The Cardiovascular Technology program at Mohawk College is an Ontario College Diploma offered at Mohawk's Institute for Applied Health Sciences, located on the McMaster University campus in Hamilton, Ontario. The Mohawk College Cardiovascular Technology program has been granted a 2 year accreditation status by the Canadian Medical Association (CMA).

The program gives students the opportunity to:

Acquire knowledge and skills to assist physicians in cardiac diagnosis
Learn to perform cardiovascular tests such as
- Electrocardiography
- Holter Ambulatory Monitoring
- Exercise Testing
- Pacemaker Follow-Up
- Ambulatory BP Monitoring

Students will experience:

Extensive hands-on training during skills courses
Clinical training at affiliated hospitals and clinics

Opportunities for Graduates

Graduates are eligible to write the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists registration examination www.csct.ca. Graduates are eligible to apply for admission to Mohawk's Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography program. Degree transfer opportunities are available.
