Pre-Clinical Requirements
Nursing - BScN Degree
All accepted applicants are required to have the following completed prior to clinical placement and are responsible for the associated costs:
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification, C/AED - Health Care Provider Level; recertification required annually while in the program
- Up-to-date immunization record
- Mask fit testing, required every two years while in the program;
- Up-to-date Police Clearance - Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS)*
Students are responsible for their own travel and costs to clinical placements.
*Registered students who have been convicted of an offence under the criminal code for which they have not been pardoned may be denied the opportunity to enter or continue in a clinical placement while in the program.
Effective January, 2005 the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) requires all applicants for registration or reinstatement from within Canada to provide a recent Criminal Record Synopsis (CIPC check) as part of the registration process.
