Admission Requirements
Minimum requirements for admission to the Personal Support Worker Certificate program
- OSSD or equivalent (GED, College and Career Preparation) including:
- Grade 12 English, C or U or equivalent
- Grade 10 Mathematics, D (Academic) or P (Applied) level
- Options are available for mature applicants. Please contact Admissions for more information.
Pre-Clinical Requirements:
All accepted applicants are required to have the following completed prior to clinical placement and are responsible for the associated costs:
- Standard First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification, C/AED; recertification required annually while in the program
- Up-to-date immunization record
- Mask fit testing, required every two years while in the program
- Up-to-date Police Clearance – Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS)*
* Registered students who have been convicted of an offence under the criminal code for which they have not been pardoned may be denied the opportunity to enter or continue in a clinical placement while in the program.
