iDeaWORKS Entrepreneurship Program
In a shifting economy, students benefit from learning to develop and pursue their own ideas. Whether they choose to start their own businesses, innovate through "intrapreneurship" in an existing workplace, or join a start-up in the community, young entrepreneurs need access to mentorship, business development training, and industry networks.
Each term groups of new entrepreneurs are selected to participate in the iDeaWORKS Entrepreneurship Program. The program is intended to help students, alumni or community companies that are in their early stages of development. iDeaWORKS supports these start-ups in the following ways:
- Curriculum - New entrepreneurship courses include eCo-op and Start-up Nation
- Funding - Funding is provided in the form of seed cash or student resources
- Incubation space - Start-up companies will be provided with a workspace
- Events - You are invited to participate in workshops, tours, Lunch & Learns, networking events and the Entrepreneurship Speaker Series
- Mentorship - Participants have access to a faculty mentor and an Entrepreneur-in-Residence to meet with one-on-one and discuss specific questions related to the launching of their business
