Factory Floor, a new iF initiative, opens May 1, 2012!
Located at the Don Pether Business Incubation Centre
Factory Floor is iF's new co-creation centre! This collaborative space is based on a clubhouse model where iF clients can reserve "hot desks" daily, weekly, or just occassionally. Start-up entrepreneurs and business professionals alike are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to work, share and innovate together! 
Join iF on Wednesday afternoons throughout May (1-3pm) to check out the space and chat with the Factory Floor coordinator.

AppsforHealth 2012
May 10-11th at Mohawk College
AppsforHealth is becoming Ontario's premier recruiting and networking event for the mhealth and ehealth industry. This interactive two-day event provides an opportunity for professionals and students to discuss current trends in the industry while learning more about new emerging technologies. The student challenge begins on the second day of the event. Prior to the event, students choose a challenge posted by a healthcare or non-profit orgranization , join a team and find a solution. Students present their solutions at AppsforHealth 2012 for the chance to win prizes.

Women Entrepreneurship Quick Pitch Competition

This event features four woman-powered startups. They'll have 5 minutes to present their business to a panel of judges in the Quick Pitch Competition to win $2,500 worth of prizes! Presenters include Deborah Tompkins & Ellen Irving of Lunch-Bags.ca, Lisa Scott of Sound Sports Imaging, Nicole Sherman & Josie Rudderham of Cake and Loaf Bakery, and Amanda De Freitas of Mimi and Ezzie Eco Lux Pet Apparel. 

Startup Weekend Hamilton2
Presented by Innovation Factory, HalTech and nGen
April 27-28 at Mohawk College
Startup Weekend is an intense 54 hour event which focuses on building a web or mobile application which could form the basis of a credible business over the course of a weekend. The weekend brings together people with different skillsets - primarily software developers, graphics designers and business people - to build applications and develop a commercial case around them.
