Program Description

Develop knowledge and skills in Perinatal Nursing as an RPN!

Explore a comprehensive study of nursing care of mother, fetus/newborn and family, from preconception to six weeks postpartum.

Through a combination of theory and hands-on clinical work, there is a strong emphasis on physiology, evidenced based practice, research and nursing management. Improve your ability to provide effective, safe and satisfying care to patients and their families, including newborn and family assessments, problem recognition, newborn complications and more.

Potential and in-progress students must be aware that most agencies accepting clinical/placement students require you to be fully vaccinated with Health Canada approved vaccines. If you are not fully immunized, it may have a significant impact on your ability to participate in clinical/field placement.
