Teaching Opportunities in China

Introduction

Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology is making an effort to help our partner institutions in China to recruit teachers. These partner institutions require teachers to deliver courses in the following programs:

Positions are available each semester and contracts can be for one term (a possible 9-18 weeks) or ongoing. This is an ideal way to experience the Chinese culture for a reasonable length of time.

China Youth University for Political Sciences

China Youth University for Political Sciences, in Beijing, P.R. China, offers Mohawk's Business Administration and the Computer Systems Technology - Software Engineering Program. Courses in Communications are also needed for these programs.

Xi'an Siyuan University

Xi'an Siyuan University, Xi'an, Shaanxi, P.R. China, is another teaching partner institution we recruit applicants for teaching assignments. Three Mohawk College Programs are offered at Xi'an: Business Administration, Computer Systems Technology - Network Engineering and Security Analyst (NESA) and Industrial Engineering Technology Management.
Mohwk interviews applicants on behalf of it's partners and recommends for hire. Partner institutions then review applicants in hope of signing work contracts to teach at their institutions. They use curriculum provided by Mohawk College that is taught in English. Each institution requires Mohawk to deliver 9 courses for each of the 5 programs. The course listings for both institutions are listed in the Appendix. The course outlines used meet the standards required by Mohawk College, Canada. Their course descriptions are available on the Mohawk College web site. There may be more than one section running at the same time. You and a friend with teaching experience may want to go over as a team to experience a unique culture.

Some travelers seek to learn a bit of the language before they depart. "Rosetta Stone", offers an on-line language development program that has proven successful for motivated candidates.
