How to Apply
To apply for Advanced Standing or Direct Entry you will need to complete an application form. Once we receive your application form, transcripts, course outlines and a letter that summarizes the courses you want credit for, we will forward your request to the appropriate program coordinator who will determine what credits may be transferred.
Apply four to six months in advance of the start of your program to avoid disappointment with visa delay. The use of the OCAS application service will delay your international application by a minimum of three weeks. So, deal directly with Mohawk College to avoid the delay. Advanced standing / Transfer students must arrive one week before classes start to register for their program and to ensure they get a timetable and have time to get books. A meeting with the coordinator of the program is generally required to set up a modified program of study. Students arriving late, after classes start, may jeopardize their chances of getting the courses they need.
Steps To Apply For Advanced Standing
Step 1: Review your courses to assess where you might be eligible for a credit transfer - (B+ Minimum Grade Required)
Step 2: Submit a cover letter addressed to the Coordinator to outline your objectives for entering the program. 2nd or 3rd Semester Students need to get familiar with the Canadian culture, so a few semesters just prior to a work term is an ideal place to start.
Step 3: Print and complete an Application Form. Include a $400 confirmation fee which will hold a seat for you, pending your visa approval. (The seat deposit is refundable.)
Step 4: Mail or courier your application fee, transcripts and evidence of English proficiency or request to enter our English Language Program along with application fees and cover letter directly to:
