Applicant Audition Guide - Fall 2012
The Audition process, steps to follow:
Apply to the Music Program through the OCAS website ontariocolleges.ca and follow the steps as instructed by OCAS. Approximately 2 weeks after you submit your application through OCAS, you will receive a package in the mail containing:
- Audition Guide
- Applicant Questionnaire
- Applicant Item Request Fee Form
- Acknowledgement letter
If you do not receive these documents, call the Mohawk Admissions Department at (905) 575 2229. Complete the Questionnaire and mail in promptly along with your non-refundable audition fee of $35.
- The deadline to submit the Questionnaire and Audition Processing Fee is March 1st, 2012. Questionnaires and fees submitted after this date will not receive equal consideration.
- Your application will not be processed further if we do not receive both your questionnaire and your non-refundable audition processing payment. It is your responsibility to ensure Mohawk College has received your package. MohawkCollege is not responsible for items lost in the mail.
- Please note that refunds of the audition processing fee will not given for any reason including waitlisted applicants who do not receive an audition, late applicants, applicant cancellations and no-shows.
Once we receive both your payment and questionnaire we will schedule your audition or place you on a waitlist. You will receive your Audition Package in the mail by the second week of April. This will contain:
- Your audition date and time
- Sample theory test (Applied Applicants only)
- Your instrument major requirements
- Maps to Mohawk College
If you do not receive an Audition Package in the mail by this time, please call the Music Dept. at (905) 575 2045. This could mean one of the following:
- We have not received both your audition processing payment and questionnaire.
- We received your payment and questionnaire late
- You are on a waitlist for an audition
Confirm your audition date and time to the contact information provided in your Audition Package by the specified date. Failure to confirm your audition date and time in the allotted timeline will cause you to lose your audition slot with no opportunity to re-schedule. Prepare for your audition with the information provided to you in your Audition Package.
