18th Annual Techno Challenge 2005 Brings Science and Technology to LifeHAMILTON, ON-March 18, 2005: The Faculty of Engineering Technology is gearing up for next Wednesday’s 18 th Annual Techno Challenge 2005 which will welcome over 300 student competitors from colleges, universities and area high schools. The gymnasium of the Fennel Campus of Mohawk College will be filled with students’ entries in Pneumatics, Writing in Code, AutoCAD and the ever-popular Popsicle Stick Bridge Building Competitions. The fun and games get underway at noon on Wednesday, March 23, 2005 with the College and Universities competition and the Celebrity Challenge, followed by the secondary school competition at 7:00 p.m.
The 2005 Celebrity Challenge features local personalities racing against the clock to build weight bearing popsicle stick bridges from sticks, glue, chewing gum and more, to see which team can stand up to “Captain Crunch.” Local radio stations as well as Hamilton and Brantford Police Services will face off at 12 noon sharp.
