MOHAWK COLLEGE HOLDS STUDENT APPRECIATION DAY
HAMILTON, ON – January 18, 2005: Food, fun and best of all, it’s free. Those are the words that best describe Mohawk College’s Student Appreciation Day underway at all four campus locations today. Macaroni and cheese, hot chocolate and cookies, popcorn and gift certificates for Tim Horton’s and other food venues are helping warm students to the idea of having a day to celebrate student life. The joint Mohawk Students’ Association and Student Life venture began in 2004 and is designed to remind both students and staff alike that there is a balance that needs to be maintained between academic success and work and recreational and leisure activities.
Activities and events are continuing throughout the day at the Fennell, Stoney Creek, Mohawk-McMaster Institute for Applied Health Sciences campuses and both locations of the Brantford campus, and include a caricaturist, magician, palm reader and plenty of raffles, draws and freebies. These events wrap up this evening with the band K-OS playing at ‘The Arnie’ in the Student Centre.
