BASKETBALL
Mohawk College made it to the final of the New Balance Invitational Men’s Basketball Tournament at Sheridan College Tuesday (Dec. 20) before losing to host Bruins.
The Mountaineers won their opening game, 95-89 over Sir Sandford Fleming Knights of Peterborough. Alen Beader had 24 points. Payton Kyei had 22 and Igor Trbojevic added 15.
In the final, Sheridan downed Mohawk 103-71. Trbojevic scored 24 points and Nick Gaspic, 16.
Trbojevic and fellow Mountaineer Stevie Perrotte both made the tournament All-Star Team.
