Mohawk Athletes Academic All-Canadians
Five Mohawk College athletes have been named 2005-06 Canadian Colleges Athletic Association Academic All-Canadians.
Mountaineers who earned the honour include OCAA badminton champion Margaret Myjak, basketball star Susan Shaw-Davis, Tara Bonitatibus from the women’s soccer team which won the bronze medal in the outdoor season and silver indoors, plus two members of the OCAA bronze medal champion women’s volleyball squad, Jaclyn Archer and Tracey Stege.
To be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must be a first or second team Ontario Colleges Athletic Association All-Star in a CCAA sport, or in the case of an individual CCAA sport, a gold or silver medal winner at the OCAA level. The student-athlete must also have achieved honours academically, which is an average of 85 percent or higher at Mohawk College.
The five Academic All-Canadians are among 27 Mohawk OCAA All-Academic Award recipients who will be acknowledged at the Mountaineers’ 39 th Annual Athletics Awards Banquet at the Michelangelo Banquet Centre Saturday night.
