15 MOUNTAINEERS FOR 2009 OCAA HALL OF FAME
(April 6, 2009) North York, Ont. — The Ontario Colleges Athletics Association (OCAA) is proud to announce the OCAA Hall of Fame Class of 2009. This distinction was created to honour our member institutions’ Athletes, Coaches and Builders who have made significant contributions to the OCAA throughout their careers. Inductees will be formally inducted at the Hall of Fame Awards Gala and Ceremony on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at the St. Clair Centre for the Arts in Windsor, Ontario.
Since 2003, the OCAA has inducted 170 individuals into the Hall of Fame and will add another 88 members this year. The Class of 2009 will consist of two builders, seven coaches and 79 athletes. First announced in 2000, the OCAA All-Millennium Teams will continue honouring those who played prior to the turn of the century. This group will see 69 members of the Women’s Fastball, Men’s and Women’s Soccer and Men’s and Women’s Badminton All-Millennium teams recognized. Twelve members of the OCAA Hall of Fame have also been named to their respective All-Millennium team.
