Mohawk Soccer's Petrina the OCAA Male Athlete of the Week
A post season goal scoring explosion has earned Mohawk soccer player Adam Petrina the Encrypt Stick Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Male Athlete of the Week honour for the period ending October 24.
Petrina, the 5'-5" second-year striker from Grimsby, fired three goals in the Mountaineers' 6-4 triumph over Niagara in their sudden death OCAA playoff qualifier October 19, then struck in extra time to give Mohawk a 1-0 win over La Cite in quarter final play October 24 in Ottawa. With the win, the Mountaineers advanced to the OCAA Soccer Championships at the OSA Soccer Centre in Vaughan this weekend. They will face Humber in the semi finals Friday (October 29).
