The principal aim of the Security Services Department, is to provide a safe learning environment and protect students, staff and property. This includes regular patrols of all College facilities, crime prevention, monitoring of the parking lots and fire alarm systems.

The following security devices and services are available throughout the Fennell Campus for the protection and safety of Staff, Students, Guests and Visitors.

 

Key/Access Applications:

Keys are cut on Wednesdays only. Please forward your application to the Security & Parking Office, Rm F101, by the preceding Tuesday no later than 4:00 pm.

Surveillance Cameras:

Surveillance cameras are located at the Fennell, Brantford, Wentworth, and Stoney Creek Campuses. These cameras allow Security to view and videotape critical areas inside and outside the buildings.

Intercoms:

The Fennell Campus is equipped with an intercom system, located on the walls of the hallway. There are 39 intercoms inside the College Campus and one in each elevator. The system is always active and can be used by pressing the red button once to connect with Security, and then releasing it for a reply.

Emergency Telephones:

Eleven emergency telephones are located throughout the Fennell Campus parking lots. The phones are placed on bright yellow poles and have a blue light mounted on top, which is always illuminated.

To call security, push the large red button, ONCE ONLY and RELEASE. This will contact the security desk immediately and activate a flashing strobe light at the phone.

Security can reach the most remote phone within 3 minutes.

Bell Payphone Emergency Buttons:

Press the emergency button on internal Bell payphones (located at major campuses only) to be connected with Security. Signs above these phones identify your location. Give this location to Security.

Internal Phone:

Dialing "55" on any internal phone will connect immediately to main Security desk.

Panic Alarms:

Use of panic alarms (identified by signs) located in many of the women's washrooms and changerooms, will alert Security of an emergency.

Escort Service:

Escort service to your car, or bus stop, is available by contacting Security at the campus and/or through the Walk Safe Program.
