Overview

This program includes the equivalent in-school apprenticeship basic level training for both General Carpenter and Plumber. 

Program Highlights

  • Acquire the equivalent in-school basic-level training for both general carpenter and plumber apprenticeship
  • Experience specialized training in carpentry hand and power tools, construction materials, wood and wood products, workplace safety, wood joinery and fastening systems
  • Develop CAD, plan reading and visualization skills needed to create today’s modern structures
  • Explore building and construction materials, project scheduling, estimating and construction management
  • Acquire specialized training in plumbing, hand and power tools, piping materials, fixtures and support systems
  • Acquire a very hands-on education consisting of many labs and practical projects over four semesters

Program Coordinator

Applicants to the Construction Engineering Technician Diploma program must have the minimum requirements for admission

  • OSSD or equivalent (Mohawk Academic Upgrading, GED) including:
    • Grade 12 English, C or U or equivalent
    • Grade 12 Mathematics; C (MCT4C recommended) or U or equivalent
    • Grade 10, 11 or 12 Construction and Design Technology courses recommended

Note: Students will have classes at both Fennell and Stoney Creek Campuses
