Construction Engineering Technician Diploma
The Construction Engineering Technician program at Mohawk College is a two-year Ontario College Diploma program offered at the STARRT Institute located in Stoney Creek (Hamilton), Ontario.
The program incorporates traditional technician and skilled trades training into one diploma and gives students a very hands-on education consisting of many labs and practical projects over four semesters. Students in the Construction Engineering Technician program will learn the equivalent in-school curriculum for basic carpenter and plumber apprenticeship and acquire specialized training in carpentry hand and power tools, construction materials, wood and wood products, and workplace safety.
The Construction Engineering Technician program gives students the opportunity to:
- learn the most advanced wood joinery and fastening systems
- develop CAD, plan reading and visualization skills needed to create today's modern structures
- explore building and construction materials, project scheduling, estimating and construction management
- acquire specialized training in plumbing, hand and power tools, piping materials, fixtures and support systems
The program's affiliations include the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT).
