Volunteering at Mohawk allowed me to contribute to my students, and gave me an experience I will never forget. I know I will continue to contribute in my community in the future. It enhanced my overall college experience and allowed me to make friends and be involved in something rewarding. Volunteering at Mohawk was so much fun!

This year I had an amazing opportunity to work with fellow students and faculty that shared my enthusiasm for Mohawk College and for the coming together for a cause greater then us. I am so glade I made the decision to step up and get involved. A very big ‘Thank You’ shout-out to Debra for all your hard work and patience with your volunteer crew this year!

Volunteering at Mohawk College provides a rewarding experience with each opportunity from Orientation, to college events, to Convocation; the list goes on and on. Having come through Mohawk as a student and now as alumni there is no better gratification then seeing our students flourish year after year; embracing the entire Mohawk College experience.

"Volunteering for Mohawk has definitely been one of my greatest experiences at the school. It has helped me gain a sense of pride and school spirit for the college. You also get to make new friends, gain valuable skills, and really make a difference for the Student Life events. You will cherish the great times you have had volunteering long after you have graduated."

Being a volunteer student leader gave me the opportunity to get involved with and meet the new students from my campus on welcome week. I also got the opportunity to volunteer at events at the other Mohawk campuses getting the full Mohawk experience. Mohawk is more than just being in the classroom there are so many events that students can be apart of making their student life the best it can be.

Jennifer Whitten,
2nd year, Advertising
Networking and being involved are some of the main things in my vocabulary as an Advertising student at Mohawk College. As a student I know I have to make the most of my experience to get the most out of it. By volunteering I'm not only improving my communication and interpersonal abilities, but providing myself with another stepping stone for my future. The more I volunteered, the more comfortable I got. The more I learned about Mohawk College as a tour guide, the more comfortable I felt in the environment. Any volunteering you do can go towards your resume, including contacts you meet along the way, not to mention the great feeling it gives you for giving back.

When I was presented with the opportunity to volunteer, I was not sure what was going to be in store. However, this miraculous experience provided me with a chance to connect with many friends, which I now cherish along with the entire college and the community as a whole! I would not trade my experience here for anything. It was a chance for me to see what really mattered to me in life. I recommend this to anyone and everyone, for it will help you mentally, physically and spiritually grow. Through a simple desire to help and true care, there is nothing that cannot be done.

Volunteering at Mohawk has allowed me to meet new and interesting people. It has provided me with experiences and skills that I can take with me down my future career path. Best of all it has allowed me the chance to create memories that I will cherish for years to come. I believe that all students should get involved to gain experience and skills, to make friends and to have fun!

2nd Year, Computer Systems Technician - Network Systems
"As a member of the Student Volunteer Crew, I was able to participate in many different activities throughout the past year. I was able to meet and work with many great people from other programs in the college. My only regrets were, I was not able to volunteer more and I did not get involved earlier in my college education. It is an experience that I will joyfully look back on for the rest of my life and know that I was able to give a little bit back to the school that was such a large part of my life"
