Ontario Bridging Participant Assistance Program

The Ontario Bridging Participant Assistance Program (OBPAP) provides bursaries to internationally trained professionals with financial need to cover direct education costs for participants attending non-OSAP approved, current or former Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration (MCI) funded bridge training programs offered by Ontario colleges and universities.

OBPAP Application

The Ontario Bridging Participant Assistance Program (OBPAP) is only available to students with financial need enrolled in a non-OSAP approved Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration (MCI) funded bridge programs with direct costs (tuition, books and equipment). Bursary assistance is only available during the bridge training period for eligible program commencing between April 1, 2016 and March 31, 2017.

The deadline to apply for OBPAP funding is March 17, 2017.

To participate in this program, you must be accepted in one of the following Programs for the current academic year:

  • Bridging for Internationally Educated Nurses (BIEN)
  • Bridging for Internationally Educated Medical Laboratory Technologists (IEMLT)
  • Bridging to Information & Communications Technology (ICT)*
  • Bridging to Environmental Occupations*

For students in the BIEN and IEMTL programs, submit all required supporting documentation (opens PDF, 560kb) at Student Services, The Square, McMaster Campus (across Room 123).

For students in the ICT and Environmental programs, submit all required supporting documentation (opens PDF, 560kb) at the YWCA - Hamilton, MacNab Location.
