Second Annual College Student Success Innovation Centre Symposium

The Centre hosted the 2nd Annual Symposium on March 12, 2020. 

This was an exclusive, free and invite-only event to release the results of new research coordinated by the Centre with current and prospective future partners.

Presentations included:

Releasing the 2019 Proactive Advising Replication Study Results

Presenters: Dr. Ross Finnie, EPRI & Dr. Michelle Turan, Research Fellow, Mohawk College.

A study that included over 12,000 students and nearly 100 employees from Mohawk College, Fleming College, Humber College, Centennial College and the Education Policy Research Initiative (EPRI).

Psychologically Attuned Communication: A new approach to student outreach

Presenter: Dr. Shannon Brady, Wake Forest University.

Results from a multi-phase project recently published via HEQCO that included Colleges and Universities across Canada and the United States.

Introducing the 2020 Demonstration Project & New Partners

Presenter: Tim Fricker, Dean of Students, Mohawk College.

A project to utilize Psychologically Attuned Communication in a new way: to reduce ‘Summer Melt’ and improve student retention.
