Funding Partners

Government of Canada Research Support Fund (RSF)

The Research Support Fund assists Canadian postsecondary institutions and their affiliated research hospitals and institutes with the expenses associated with managing the research funded by the three federal research granting agencies. The Research Support Fund is a tri-agency initiative of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. It is administered by the Tri-agency Institutional Programs Secretariat, which is housed within SSHRC. You can learn more about the Research Support Fund (RSF) at their website. Mohawk College uses grant funds to directly support industry innovation by providing technical expertise, access to equipment and supplies. Some indirect costs, such as administrative staff that work in finance, accounting, communications and grant writing, or the acquisition of library holdings, or insurance on research equipment and vehicles are not covered by grants. Mohawk College uses the funds from the RSF to fund research resources such as improved research tools and insurance on research equipment and vehicles.

Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC)

The objective of the College and Community Innovation (CCI) Program is to increase innovation at the community and/or regional level by enabling Canadian colleges to increase their capacity to work with local companies, particularly SMEs. It supports applied research and collaborations that facilitate commercialization, as well as technology transfer, adaptation and adoption of new technologies.
