Mohawk Men’s Basketball Team Wins High Scoring Opener

The pre-season indicated the Mohawk Mountaineers would have an exciting young team that would score a lot of points. And there was little in the OCAA men's basketball opener to dispel that.

The visiting Mountaineers outgunned the University of Toronto Mississauga Eagles 96-93 Saturday (Oct. 20)

In what head coach Brian Jonker said was a good team effort and a good road win for his young team, Emanuel Otong continued to impress, with 28 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists and six turnovers. Matt Foster scored 16 points, Milos Mladian had had 14 points and Terrence Lennox came off the bench to contribute 13 points in  just 20 minutes of playing time. Cudjoe Masuka had five points, 15 rebounds and six assists.

For UTM, it was a two men show, as Gregory Roberts hooped 40 points and Zamam Khan added 30.
