Mohawk Prominent in First Badminton Invitational Of Season

The birds were flying in the first badminton invitational of the season - the Humber Cup. And Mohawk athletes got off to a very encouraging start.

Cassy Wilkinson made it to the 'B' Flight semi finals in women's singles. Saad Bin Masood  and Phi Nguyen both made the 'B' Flight semi finals in men's singles.

In Mixed doubles, Kevin Huynh and Jennifer Co reached the third round in 'A' Flight.

In men's doubles, Kevin Huynh and Jason Vu were 'C' Flight semi finalists.

Cassy Wilkinson and Jennifer Co made it to the third round of  'A'  Flight in women's doubles.

Also in women's doubles, Lia Moon and Melissa Ramos-Santos won 'C' Flight.

"It was a great opening for the season," said new head coach Richard Tremblay.  "New coaching staff and athletes alike are learning to work as a cohesive group to achieve common objectives,  which is having them to perform to their full potential and looking to send athletes to the provincial, which was not acheived last year."
