Elijah Lopez led the way with nine kills, as Mohawk's men swept Boreal College from Sudbury, 25-15, 25-17, 25-14 in OCAA men’s volleyball Friday (Nov. 23).
Paul Wagner had six kills and Daniel Fontanna provided 27 assists and six digs.
Michel Ayotte had six kills and three blocks for the visiting Vipers and Kevin Longpre produced 10 assists and five digs, for the last place team.
Mohawk head coach Vinny Saporito said despite their opponents, his team has to show up fully all the time. “At some points, how we played today wouldn’t be up to par with other teams and I think we should be playing the same all the time. But we did get away with the the win, which, in the end, is what we wanted,” Saporito said.
The Mountaineers improved to 4-3 while the Vipers dropped to 0-7.
