It took them five sets, but the Mohawk Mountaineers defeated the Conestoga Condors in OCAA women's volleyball in Kitchener, Saturday (Dec. 1).
The scores were 25-12, 20-25, 22-25, 25-11, 15-9.
Amanda Kuiper led the way for Mohawk, with 16 kills, two service aces and 21 assists. Jennifer Knowles had 10 kills, seven service aces and 25 assists. Emily MacEachern chipped in with 12 kills and 12 digs. Holly Clarke contributed 18 digs and Saylor Smith tallied five kills and five stuff blocks.
For Conestoga, Lorena Tasedan had 10 kills. Olivia Bender produced eight kills and three blocks, Emily Aitken had seven kills, five aces and two blocks, while Jessica Ball registered 20 assists.
The Mountaineers improved to 6-3 and have completed first semester play, while the Condors dropped to 1-7 and have one more match against Humber prior to their break.
