Mohawk Women's Hoop Win String Snaps

The Niagara Knights ended Mohawk's three game win streak in OCAA women's basketball, with an 85-59 decision in Welland Friday (Jan. 25).

Sam Pocrnic scored 23 points, while Beth Minielly and Alex Parente had nine each for the Mountaineers, who fell to 4-10, while  the Knights improved to 8-6.

"Full credit to Niagara for the victory," said Mohawk head coach Kevin Duffy. "But we just didn’t have any legs tonight after the intensity of last nights game (versus Redeemer). We were tired mentally and physically and it showed all game. We didn’t execute our game plan at all and were too exhausted to defend properly. We will get rested and get ready for another streak of games starting next Thursday (at Fanshawe,)" Duffy said.
