Mohawk got off to a great start, leading Fanshawe 23-11 after the first quarter, but the Falcons came flying back to score a 103-69 decision over the Mountaineers in OCAA men's basketball in London,Thursday (Jan. 31).
Even at half time, the Mountaineers were still in it, down by only one point (42-41).
But the second half was all Fanshawe.
Chris Parker and Alfred Johnson each had 21 points for Fanshawe. Johnson also hauled down 10 rebounds.
For Mohawk, Aaron Case scored 17 points, Matt Foster had 13 while Jordan Martin and Emanuel Otong netted nine points apiece.
Mountaineers' head coach Brian Jonker agreed his side played well early, but didn't respond when Fanshawe started making the game tough. "In the second half we were physically beaten up," Jonker said.
That was Mohawk's third defeat in a row, dropping them to 5-9. Fanshawe improved to 12-4 after their third straight win.
